Demmler wishes a happy Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day is a special event celebrated every year on February 14. It is a day when people show their love and affection for each other by giving gifts, flowers, cards and other attentions.

A special way to show your affection to someone on Valentine's Day is by sharing a delicious cake. Whether it's a heart-shaped cake, an elaborate pie, or just some homemade cookies, a sweet gift can be a special symbol of love.

If you want to surprise your loved one, you can bake a cake yourself or order one from a baker. A homemade cake can have a special meaning, as it shows time and effort you are willing to invest to please someone. An ordered cake, on the other hand, can be more luxurious and elaborate, which can give a special surprise and joy.

Would you have known?

The namesake for Valentine's Day seems to be St. Valentine from Rome, the patron saint of lovers. Valentine lived in Rome in the 3rd century and married lovers according to the Christian rite, although Emperor Claudius II had forbidden it. According to tradition, the marriages of these couples were particularly auspicious. Valentine of Rome is also said to have given the couples flowers from his garden. By order of the emperor, Valentine was beheaded on February 14, 269.
