Day of the nested sentences

Hypotaxis Day is, unsurprisingly, one of the more curious holidays, even without having to mention it. Hypotaxis Day, which is always celebrated on 25 February, was initiated by the German cartoonist and blogger Bastian Melnyk.

Even if sentence monsters or nested sentences have long been frowned upon and are rarely encountered, especially on the net, this day should be given the honour it deserves. So let's try the following recipe as a tapeworm sentence:

The world-famous walnut-orange cake - also perfect for pirates

  • Ingredients We need, unsurprisingly for a walnut-orange cake, one orange and 200g dried dates, as well as 150ml water for the dates, to which we add 2 tsp sunflower oil, coconut oil also works, as well as the spices cinnamon, a teaspoon, a vanilla pod, or a teaspoon of bourbon vanilla sugar. Furthermore, we courageously use 200g buckwheat flour for the base, supplemented with 100g millet flakes, 2 teaspoons of cream of tartar baking powder and finally 300ml water, as well as 150g walnuts, for our walnut-orange cake :) .
  • Preparation in the mini baking tin We start by washing the organic orange and grating zest from the peel, as the orange zest gives the cake a wonderful aroma. Next, mix the buckwheat flour with the vanilla, millet flakes, baking powder, grated orange zest and cinnamon in a large mixing bowl, making sure that everything is really well mixed, after which the dates are then pureed and added to the mixture. Now process the walnuts to make the walnut milk, soak the walnuts in water and then puree in the blender, then add the sunflower oil/coconut oil and whisk everything together vigorously. If you use a small baking tin, you should be aware that the baking time may be slightly shorter, so it is always good to check the result with a toothpick, because if no more batter sticks, the cake is done. In general, however, you can expect a baking time of approx. 25 minutes at 170°C.
